Sylvia Stadtmüller

„The things of the world move in a steady river, nevertheless, they are connected with each other by the time “.
Sylvia Stadtmüller approaches with her works to the connection of space and time. She shows provoking and everyday scenes from our environment, which form a unity at the end again.
She creates her compositions in two different ways. She uses reflex cameras for static photography, as well as compact cameras to catch individual snapshots.
The collages, carry off the viewer in a surreal world, stamped by a melancholy character originate from the combination and overlapping of picture from different time levels.
The pictures open an absolutely new point of view on ordinary things and reveal the subtle details moments later. Common things seem suddenly foreign and unreal, unknown things become real, always with the aesthetics and expression of the moment. The messages seem like a fiction of the subconscious and create dream worlds which allow time and space to merge seamlessly.

Sylvia Stadtmüller uses digital picture treatment and special technologies to bring together beauty and ugliness, spontaneity and continuity in visual metamorphoses which generate an own powerful dynamic.
